The newly appointed Bandari fc coach Cassa Mbungo has assured the club that his three-year contract is to ensure the team is back playing continental football, but first they will have to fight to lift the Football Kenya Federation-Premier League (FKF-PL) title and the Shield Cup.

“My three-year project is to see Bandari play in continental championships,” Mbungo said.

Bandari represented the country in the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup after winning the FKF Shield Cup and wanted to repeat the good show last year, but the continental body suspended all tournaments after the Covid-19 breakout.

Bandari’s sojourn in the CAF competition was ended after losing 5-2 on aggregate to Guinean side Horoya AC in the play-off stage.

The Dockers lost 4-2 in the first leg in Conakry, and suffered a 1-0 defeat at home in the return leg played at Kasarani Stadium.

The Mombasa-based team has represented the country twice in the CAF Confederation Cup
