Matiangi to be next the nyanza region kingpin after Raila

Matiangi’s entry into President Uhuru’s Cabinet back in 2013 seems to had paved political millage for him .

Several of his Cabinet colleagues have already publicly voiced support for his possible presidential candidature, either because they believe he is the one, or they have been told to prop him up.

His colleague James Macharia, Transport CS sometime back expressed in the presence of Matiang’i similar sentiments in Murang’a County.

“That is why we continue saying ‘kazi iendelee’. That means having someone like Matiang’i who has been the chairman of the projects implementation committee… When it gets to 2022, Kazi lazima iendelee,” said Macharia. 

The efforts to elevate Matiang’i’s political career by will be determined by the Bonchari by-election slated for May 18 whether he will be the next Kisii political kingpin.

Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi during last event welcomed Interior CS Fred Matiangi’s bid to unite political leaders from the Abagusii community.

Maangi added that the community will benefit more politically when united maintaining that his support for matiangi will not stop him from backing Deputy President William Ruto’s quest for presidency in 2022.

Through the CS, the community can bargain for the national cake since we have the numbers, and that is the view held by many of us, that Matiang’i is doing well in his endeavours to pull us together as a community

Raila before covid19 pandemic issue, he  had been making frequent visit to Gusiiland, the CS’s backyard, and showering him with praise.

Same to Matiangi who has been making several trips to Raila’s Luo Nyanza backyard in the company of several ODM leaders, launching a couple of development projects and presiding over fundraisers.
