School heads in Homa Bay county have been urged to istall CCTV cameras in their institutions to curb insecurity cases.


County Commissioner said that the gadgets come in handy aspecially during this current wave of conflagrations that have been consuming dormitories in schools.


Gendia Boys, Ringa Boys, St Elizabeth Koyoo and God Manera are some of the schools that have fallen victim of the arson attacks.


Elsewhere, the Buru-Buru Girls High School Board of Management chairman Lazarus Opicho has said that parents and their children have been fined Sh2.2 million to cater for the damages incurred during last weeks’ fire incident in the school.


The students are returning today and esch parent has to part ways with Sh1,500 before any girl can be re-admitted. Also, all of them must clear the years school fees.
“The biggest problem we have with this school are parents and we must blame them for the mess,” Opicho said.
At the same time, 10 girls from whose cubicle the inferno started are being arraign in court today.
