The Makueni senator  HON. Kilonzo ,who is a member of the Wiper party, has revealed what awaits the bill once it is introduced on the floor of the house.

“First reading on Tuesday. The bill will be committed to a committee ,most likely justice/legal affairs. Public participation to follow within seven days.

Public hearing and tabling of report for debate ,7days. Expect nothing short of robust debate. No helmet required at the Senate,”says Kilonzo.

The National Assembly had finalized on debating on the political parties amendment bill yesterday as members allied to Azimio la Umoja were able to endorse the bill despite facing resistance from Ruto allied MPs.

 The bill was able to be  passed without changes as demanded by a section of members who were seeking to introduce amendments to certain parts.

The speaker of the senate Ken Lusaka has called for a special sitting on Tuesday to start processing the political parties amendment bill passed by the National Assembly.
